About The Whiting Lions Club

"We Serve"

This is the motto of the Lions International, and of every City club around the world.

Even though we are located in a small town, our club has a membership of around 20 people, most of which live in our area.  We have members as young as 20 years old.  We also have members serving still in their eighties.  This is the kind of enthusiasm that people of every age put forth and serve our community.

The Whiting Lions Club is a not-for-profit organization that uses the ideas of the Lions International, and performs those ideas to our area.  We donate to various causes in our area and surrounding cities.  The Whiting Lions thrive in participation for citywide events and hosting our own planned events.

Our club hosts annual events and activities, such as:

            ■    Annual Pancake Breakfast (Late March or Early April)

            ■    Children's Christmas Party (Early December)

            ■    Pierogi Fest Booth (During the Pierogi Fest, Last Full Weekend In July)

            ■    Candy Day (Date Varies)

Our club regularly participates in some of the City of Whiting parades and events throughout the year:

            ■    Christmas (Early December)

            ■    4th of July (July 4, Of Course)

Some special events and projects that we have organized in the past:

            ■    Serena's song hot air balloon ride

            ■    Repair and rededication of the Forsythe Park war memorial

Any funds that we receive from the above mentioned events, or donations sent in to us are used for donations and other event oriented costs.
